Dr Mamo graduated from Medicine at Sydney University in 2014. Following internship at The Tweed Hospital, he returned to Sydney to complete his Physician Training at St Vincent’s Hospital in 2018. He then trained in Cardiology at Prince of Wales Hospital, followed by a fellowship in “triple modality” cardiac imaging (Echocardiography, Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI), ultimately undertaking a dedicated fellowship in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI at The Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre, St Vincent’s Hospital (2024). He continues to hold a VMO position at Eastern Heart Clinic, Prince of Wales where he contributes to the Structural Heart Program with intra-procedural transoesophageal echocardiography.
The signature of Dr Mamo’s care is a thorough assessment and a dedication to placing each patient’s cardiac health in the context of who they are as a person before developing an agreed strategy for their management. His expertise in echo, CTCA and CMR help along the way, with diagnosis, prognostication, procedural.
When Andrew isn’t seeing patients, he enjoys playing music and indoor soccer, film photography and driving vintage cars through the hinterland (including an annual fundraising drive).
